Whether you’ve seen these trends before on your “For You” page or you’ve completely missed them, here is a list of the best TikTok beauty trends that you need to try asap.
Before social media, you learned how to do your hair and makeup from your family or friends, and if that didn’t work, there were physical magazines with helpful tips and tricks.
Now, we have access to any piece of information we could ever want at our fingertips. We can learn how to do any makeup or hair technique that we can imagine. And because platforms like TikTok are currently taking the world by storm, information is spreading left and right and trends are popping up every day.
We don’t know how long these trends will last, but we’re happy they are having their moment right now.
Best TikTok Beauty Trends
Bubble Braids
If you ever struggled with braids before, here’s an easy trend you can do. Just make sure you have enough hair ties.
Bubble braids are a part of the big Y2K resurgence that has been happening both online and in fashion. You can find many pictures of models wearing this hairstyle both on and off the runway. With its fun look and easy process, it’s no surprise that so many people are trying this out.
You can do a big bubble braid or a few small ones. Either way, this is a fun and easy way to look chic and bubbly (pun intended).
Soap Brows
This one was probably the first thing you thought of when you heard TikTok trends. It’s probably also one of the first examples of Tiktok “running the world.”
This trend leans into the natural brows trend where people are striving to get full brows without them looking drawn on. This is a huge departure from the overplucked or overdrawn brows from the past.
The added part is that this look comes from a common bar of soap. Apply it with a spoolie brush like you would an eyebrow gel, and you’re all set. This was one of those hacks that you find on your feed and actually works and looks good. Who knew soap would be the best product in your makeup bag?
Wolf Cuts
If you thought Tiktok was taking over, you haven’t seen Kpop join the mix. Kpop has taken the world by storm and it’s no surprise that it’s huge on Tiktok too. So much so that some of their beauty trends make a splash on the app.
One hairstyle that is currently making the rounds is wolf cuts, a very low-maintenance choppy hairstyle that so many people are rocking. This trend can be found on a few Kpop stars back in the 2000s, but it’s thanks to Tiktok that this style is gaining more popularity today.
There is a real argument to be made that wolf cuts gained popularity because they’re pretty similar to mullets that were pretty popular a while back. A similar argument can be made for curtain bangs as well, which were also a big trend.
Whatever the reason, many are chopping their hair into these wispy layers that look amazing.
70s Hair
Sometimes, you just have to go back to the classics. We are currently seeing a resurgence of 70s fashion and I am personally loving every minute of it. From bell bottoms to platform shoes, this groovy decade is making a comeback and the hair surly hasn’t been forgotten.
There are tons of people picking up old-school hair rollers and curling their hair like the fabulous ladies of that era did. Celebrities like Farrah Fawcett are being remembered for their iconic hair, but it doesn’t stop there.
I’ve also seen people try out other styles that were not only popular in the 70s, but could also work for their hair type. With many people embracing their curls and natural hair texture, many are gravitating toward the afro and other styles that many have rocked for decades.
Curly Hair
Speaking of hair type, we couldn’t make this list without mentioning the growing curly hair community. This isn’t so much of a fashion trend as it is a lifestyle trend of embracing one’s own natural hair.
Not only are more and more people embracing their curls, but many are learning how to care for them and even finding that they have curls to begin with.
People who have sworn that their hair is straight for years are actually finding that their hair was curly the whole time thanks to TikTok. I consider this to be one of the best things to come out of TikTok. We love embracing your beauty and this is a prime example of that.
Claw Clips
The 90s are back and with it came all the trends that we love. One of those trends is claw clips. Claw clips are having their time in the sun and people are having fun with it.
While this may seem like any other hair accessory, I’d argue the simplicity is the point. You could’ve just picked up a hair tie, but many are going for the claw clips instead and bringing back their favorite styles from just a few decades prior.
From adorning your hair with cute and colorful butterfly clips or rocking the “just rolled out of bed” look, clips have become a legitimate trend again. They say fashion repeats itself and this is just another example of that.
Snatched Makeup
While some makeup trends are based on products or colors, this one is all about placement. We are seeing a rise in “snatched” contouring and makeup placement in general in which you use makeup to highlight what you want on your face.
This involves bringing your makeup placement up to the high points of your face, almost like an optical illusion. It brings your face up and gives you that snatched look. This can mean moving your blush up to your cheekbones to lifting your concealer up.
This all depends on your face shape of course, but this all goes along with the trend of changing where we place our makeup on our faces.

“No Makeup” Makeup Looks
Now is the time where this saying is truly coming to life. Maybe it’s all the time we’ve spent at home, but there has definitely been a rise in wearing less makeup. Don’t get me wrong, no one has stopped wearing it, they’re just wearing less of it.
Gone are the days that you cover your face with concealer, only to put a layer of foundation over that. We’re using our products sparingly and really going by the saying “less is more.”
Even the products that are getting popular are the ones that you don’t need a lot of to start working. A prime example has been the rise in full-coverage foundation that works with the smallest amount of product.
This can easily change in a few years but if it does, at least we’ll still have some makeup to play around with. To find out how to achieve the best “no makeup” makeup look, check out our guide here.
Lip Contour
We’ve always strived to get fuller lips and some people on TikTok have found another way to achieve this. Right now, many are putting down the lip liner and are instead grabbing their contour stick.
This trend is great for those who’ve struggled to overline their lips when lip kits were big. You don’t really have to worry about how your contour is placed, you just have to make sure it’s all blended.
I’ve seen so many videos where people just quickly swipe on their contour and the rest comes down to blending to get some voluminous lips. If you want to have fuller lips, I’d highly suggest this one.
Drugstore Makeup
This is a trend I hope continues. More people are trying drugstore makeup and I’m completely here for it. I’ve always been a fan of drugstore makeup and seeing more people rave about the high-quality from brands like Essence, Nyx, e.l.f , and CeraVe is amazing.
I’ve also found a lot more makeup recommendations, which is a popular thing on TikTok. From Ioni lashes to e.l.f Putty Primer, it seems like Tiktok is the place to find some new beauty finds.
Bottom Line
With TikTok being the biggest app right now, it’s no surprise to see so many trends come from this platform.
While we can’t say how long these trends will last, I think it’s safe to assume TikTok will always bring new ones to our attention. For now, all we can do is enjoy these trends and wait to see what our new favorites will be next.
