21 Stores Like Dolls Kill for Edgy, Statement Fashion

Last Updated: July 6, 2022

We may earn a commission from links on our website, but this doesn't influence the opinions of our editors.

While this brand seems to be a bit of a unique breed, we’ve found a few of the most comparable stores like Dolls Kill to indulge in if you’re looking for something a little different!

Dolls Kill Highlights:

  • Dolls Kill was founded in 2011 by Shoddy Lynn who started out by selling clothes on eBay.
  • The brand is known for its edgy clothing where you can shop by “Doll,” which is a model that embodies one of their aesthetics. These include kawaii, punk rock, festival fashion, and more.
  • The brand focuses on trendy, affordable clothes and often has huge sales and discounts available.
  • Unfortunately, the company has been in some hot water lately for selling controversial merchandise, many saying the brand is “canceled.” They have been accused of racism and cultural appropriation with their “Prehistoric Princess Costume” and a t-shirt that read “Goth is White.”

Before we get into it, we will admit we have yet to find a store just like Dolls Kill, so don’t expect replicas. That said, the stores below are great Dolls Kill alternatives (and most of them are more affordable), so you might be able to find some gems!

#1 – BlackMilk

  • Price Range: $20 – $100
  • Size Range: XXS – XXL (23.5 to 37.5 in bottoms)
  • Founded: 2009
  • Based in: Brisbane, Australia
  • Popular Sections: Tops, Shop Instagram, Dresses

BlackMilk sells everything you need to stand out from the crowd, from unique printed leggings to fun flouncy dresses.

That said, they are based in Australia, so shipping will cost extra and take a little longer to arrive. But, it’s well worth the wait.

They have a cult following with over 1 million followers on Instagram, including many celebrity fans who have worn their garments such as Katy Perry and Lana Del Rey.

#2 – YRU Shoes

  • Price Range: $15 – $150
  • Size Range: 6 – 11 (shoes)
  • Founded: 2009
  • Based in: Chino, California
  • Popular Sections: Collabs, New Releases, Pre-Sale

Although this small brand has “shoes” in the name, they do also have apparel and accessories. However, there isn’t a huge selection of apparel as shoes are their specialty. Their brand style is very similar to Dolls Kill, making it the perfect alternative.

Their styles consist of alien-inspired platforms and one-of-a-kind designs you won’t find anywhere else. Prices vary from $20 – $60 for apparel and $50 – $150 for shoes.

Their fun collabs combine alternative festival style with popular franchises, like their Carebears collab or Teletubbies collab

#3 – Nasty Gal

You can often find more of the latest trends at Nasty Gal, but they carry so many items that you can often find edgier and more alternative pieces as well.

Plus, they often offer steep discounts and sales such as 50% off sitewide (sometimes even 60% off or higher).

P.S. Check out our Nasty Gal reviews!

  • Price Range: $5 – $100
  • Size Range: 00 – 26
  • Founded: 2012
  • Based in: Manchester, United Kingdom

While you’ll find a lot of colorful and girly clothes here, PrettyLittleThing does have some similar alternative-inspired styles to Dolls Kill.

Make sure to grab some deals in the sale section. They also have an extensive plus-size selection containing 2,000+ garments. This fun brand offers everything under the sun, so expect to be browsing for a few hours (they even have an affordable home collection).

Their prices can range from high to low depending on the brand (they stock their own brands as well as other brands). Some of their own brands, such as BDG, are on the more affordable spectrum.

The UO brand is typically inexpensive with a ton of options.

Warning: Don’t (or do) get sidetracked by their home and lifestyle sections like we do!

They have plenty of excellent sales, plus we love that most of their designs are available in fun matching sets.

#7 – AMIClubWear

Everything is affordably priced, plus they have plenty of doorbusters and clearance items if you really need a good deal.

We can’t forget about Hot Topic.

For some major streetwear looks, you’re going to want to head over to Lazy Oaf.

They have a ton of fashion-forward prints and chunky shoes you don’t want to miss out on.

We love their creative “Oaflet” section (their version of an outlet or clearance section).

#10 – Yandy

Although Yandy is well known as a lingerie store, they have a great selection of clothes as well (and even some revealing costumes).

Even so, their clothing selection is pretty risque, so make sure you’re comfortable showing some skin!

If this doesn’t stop you, then you’re bound to love Yandy’s dark and sultry styles.

Fashion Nova is one of the most popular fashion retailers around, with fantastic deals on nearly every product they sell.

It’s the perfect store for someone on a budget who still wants to dress uniquely and make a statement.

For example, their graphic tops offer a fun selection of unique tees and tanks with one-of-a-kind statements, like this tee that reads “hottest person at work.”

  • Founded: 2000
  • Based in: London
  • Popular Sections: Dresses, Activewear, Jeans

Although ASOS is a marketplace with a huge selection of products and various brands, they have a great array of hidden gems that are similar to the style you’d find at Dolls Kill.

  • Price Range: $20 – $150
  • Size Range: XXS-XXL
  • Founded: 2016
  • Based in: Brooklyn, US
  • Popular Sections: Denim, Jumpsuits, Tops

Superdown is actually owned by the same company as REVOLVE, but they wanted to start a store targeting Gen Z at more affordable prices.

We love their unique, trendy selections. They also have plenty of darker, more sultry styles that are comparable to Dolls Kill.

#14 – Princess Polly

#15 – Pacsun

Pacsun

Pacsun is a popular brand that closely follows the latest trends, but often puts their own spin on things. You can find plenty of unique styles here, including some edgier style garments (although this isn’t their specialty).

Regardless, Pacsun has fantastic deals and cute styles for every member of the family (yes, including the kiddos).

Aside from their great deals regularly, you can often find sitewide sales and coupon codes to save even more.

#16 – TopShop

Topshop

  • Price Range: $5-$95
  • Size Range: XS-XL
  • Founded: 1964
  • Based in: London, United Kingdom
  • Popular Sections: Jumpers, Sleepwear, Tops

Even though Topshop was purchased by ASOS, you can shop for the brand separately on their website to find clothes that are just your style.

They have a wide selection of denim, trendy prints, and every style of garment you can think of. We’re loving their Co-ord sets (aka matching sets).

Plus, many of their items are pretty affordable.

You might not have expected to see Forever21 on this list, but they actually have some surprisingly trendy clothes as well as some simialr styles to Dolls Kill if you give them a shot!

Plus, they always have great deals, making this store the perfect place to try new styles without having to worry about losing out on money if they don’t end up working out.

#19 – Tilly’s

Tilly's

Tilly’s is another skater-style brand that’s similar to Zumiez, but they also follow trends pretty closely and typically offer some similar options to the style you’d find at Dolls Kill.

They sell their own line of clothing, but they also sell other top brands on the market that offer streetwear-inspired styles.

#20 – River Island

  • Popular Sections: Blazers, Dresses, Loungewear

River Island features options for the entire family, but that doesn’t stop them from providing edgy and trendy pieces.

An ethical and eco-friendly alternative to Dolls Kill, Lucy and Yak focuses on both style and sustainability.

While their aesthetic is a little more cheerful than Dolls Kill, they do have a bunch of funky designs you won’t find anywhere else.

Best of all, they offer affordable prices on top of being sustainable.
